It's been a long road to get here. Months of comparing flights, filling out visa forms and getting shot up with vaccinations for diseases I never knew existed. But now everything is finally set. On February 9th I'll be boarding a plane to Bangalore, India where I'll spend the year working with the anti-human trafficking organization, Oasis. Since buying the plane ticket I've been somewhere between extremely excited and mild panic attacks.
The
thought of leaving behind the best people in California has been
difficult to process, but the knowledge of what I'm getting the
chance to do is so thrilling.
My
job with Oasis will be to write about the work being done to stop
human trafficking in a country where it is absolutely rampant.
India
is widely considered to be the epicenter of human trafficking,
topping the list of countries when it comes to the transit,
destination and source of modern-day slaves.
Over
100 million people are currently being trafficked throughout India,
including 1.2 million children.
According
to the UN it is the most dangerous place for a woman to live and in
the past decade the average age of a sex worker in India has fallen
from 14-16 years to 10-14 years.
Throughout my time abroad I'll keep this blog running so I can share with you pictures and stories from my life.
This
is the part where I ask for money:
Because
this is a volunteer position I'm responsible for providing my own
living expenses. I'm covering around half the costs, but I still need
help raising the rest.
I
am still working on meeting my goal so that I can stay for the full
year. So if you’re interested in being a part of this, your support
would be awesome. What would help most at this point are committed
monthly donations. These are so helpful in getting me to my goal and
they’re a concrete reminder that I’m not going at this alone.
To those who have already sent in donations: Thank you. I have been so humbled by the outpouring of support I have received these past few months. Both the financial gifts and the words of encouragement have been an incredible reminder of just how loved I am. Thank you all for this.

For either a one time donation or recurring all you need to do is go to:
Enter
the amount you wish to give. Next to the amount box is a box that
says SELECT. Change it to Oasis Staff and when the second box appears
change it to Daniel Tozier.
Below
that is a box you can check to set it for recurring as well as start
and end date. The end date can be changed later.
Click
the 'next' button which will take you to a page where you can enter
all the credit card info etc.
The
part where I ask for money is now over.
Please
pray for me as I make final preparations for this move, that I’ll
raise enough to stay for the full year and that God will give me peace as
I prepare to leave behind the only place I’ve ever called home.
Thank
you for your prayers and support,
Daniel
